Founded in 2001, Magnolia Fly Fishers is the one and only fly fishing club in the Jackson area. MFFis a non-profit, community based organization serving the Jackson area and central Mississippi. We are dedicated to promoting awareness and participation in the art of fly fishing; and promoting the conservation, preservation, and enhancement of our fishery resources. The Clouser Minnow is a favorite fly of many of the members.
Club activities include: monthly meetings with programs featuring special guest speakers who present fly fishing techniques and destinations and club outings to various fisheries in the South. The technical aspects of fly fishing such as casting, fly tying, knot tying, and leader construction is discussed, demonstrated, and practiced.
Members participate with local conservation groups such as the Mississippi Wildlife Federation. Our club members are a diverse group of fly fishers represented from beginners to experts. Many of our members also spend considerable time right in our own backyard, fishing the coastal streams of Mississippi for spotted bass and sunfish.
